I’ve been following Ashley and Manuel’s journey on the show, and I can’t shake off the concerns I have. Manuel’s secretive nature and reluctance to share much about his personal life, coupled with his expectation for Ashley to financially support his family, have me seriously worried. Manuel’s habit of frequently running off on Ashley is sending up some major red flags. It’s got me thinking that Ashley might be better off cutting her losses sooner rather than later.
i think the cultural difference is just too much and neither of them are willing to give it a second thought. its obvious theyre attracted to each other but it seems like they never got close enough to be engaged/married for the right reasons.
she never even told him that shes a witch before he came to live with her? as someone from europe, the way shes SO serious about “being a witch” is just as ridiculous to me as to manuel. on the other hand, i could accept it and respect it seeing how she comes from a completely different background and environment.
shes very emancipated and wants an equal partner but hes macho and its obvious that to him, a wife is just a means to have a family, no big deal not keeping her in the loop. i do find this behavior disgusting myself but its as it has been for most men for most of history and still is in most parts of the world…
they jumped the gun without considering the actual ramifications and now they feel they cant back out.
