Unsure if this is the right place and I know it’s a bit of an ask.

My wife recently expressed that she wished she had an encyclopedia set that her grandmother owned in the 90s. The set was given to a cousin when she passed who donated it, which crushed my wife as she was attached to the set sentimentally.

I don’t have much identifying information other than the set contained a book with children’s stories, my wife vividly remembers one about a monkey. I don’t want to ask too much from my wife to not spoil the surprise or get her hopes up. I am following leads from family but no luck so far.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Was it an encyclopedia set specifically for children? The first thing that came to mind was the Childcraft books. They’ve been around for a long time but were continually updated and reissued, so there’s a set from the 1990s. My family had a set from the 70s. There was a volume called Once Upon a Time, which had tales in it, and another called Stories and Poems. Other volumes were subjects like How Things Work. All for young readers.

Lots of used full sets are available online if this is it.
