As the holiday season approaches, I want to hear about everyone’s top book wishes–whether it’s a collector’s edition of an old favorite, a book that has somehow evaded your grasp, a book that has been recommended by a friend, or anything and everything in between. Why are you asking for these books?
For me, I’m hoping to get two books that Mike Palindrome recommended, The Collector by John Fowles and Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee. They both aren’t at my library, and I’ve wanted to read them for a while now.
The Complete Calvin and Hobbes.
That is a seriously nice edition
I have it. Can confirm. Page, ink, color, binding quality all top notch
Do you have the paperback or the hardcover one? I’ve been thinking about getting the paperback edition, but it’s ~€110 where I live so I’m still mulling over it
Paperback. Got it on Amazon day years ago, 2016, for $60
My white elephant present this year is two anthologies of Foxtrot, by Bill Amend. My brothers would be happy to get them, and I think their kids would be interested in reading them too, once they’re old enough. Sunday comics are vastly underrated.
My dad got that for me years ago. Still my favorite Xmas present ever.
I once saw a copy of it at Costgo a few years ago for $30, but I wouldn’t know if they have it anymore.
