As the holiday season approaches, I want to hear about everyone’s top book wishes–whether it’s a collector’s edition of an old favorite, a book that has somehow evaded your grasp, a book that has been recommended by a friend, or anything and everything in between. Why are you asking for these books?

For me, I’m hoping to get two books that Mike Palindrome recommended, The Collector by John Fowles and Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee. They both aren’t at my library, and I’ve wanted to read them for a while now.

    Disgrace is excellent!

At the top of my wishlist right now are Trespasses by Louise Kennedy, The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis and Frantumaglia by Elena Ferrante.

Less Than Zero is one of my favourite books. It’s the only book by Ellis that I’d consider great. Disgrace is a great book as well. Ferrante is amazing.
