This year I decided to rewatch Bojack Horseman and I haven’t seen the show since it ended back in 2020. This rewatch was particularly eye opening to the way I’ve been handling my own mental health. Rewatching the show I noticed that I had developed many of Bojack’s and Diane’s bad habits and self destructive tendencies and realized how much it was hurting myself and those I cared about. Season 6 was especially cathartic in forcing to reevaluate myself and the choices I’ve made that I always blamed on my pain and trauma on, and the quote that really hit close to me was “I wasted so many years being miserable because I assumed that was the only way to be, but I don’t want that anymore” because I latched onto the same mentality and held onto longer than I should have but now I want to make changes because I don’t want live life thinking like that at all.

I tried to amend my ways after watching the show. But then I remembered the line - “You were born broken, there’s no cure for that.”
