I’m not sure about sabotage but it was already shot up during their fight with Robot. Plus the machine was burning and overloaded. And Robot knew where to come looking for them, as evidenced by the shock troops, so they were trying to make sure nobody else could study their tech and the place wasn’t a safe location anymore. They were just a bit too slow
