Rex is extremely weak, his only power is being able to explode things. Same with Kate, she can just duplicate herself. I imagine there were much better applicants than those 2. someone let me know if they agree
It’s less about strength, more about ability coverage. You couldn’t just have a team of all heavy hitters, you need specialist skills. The team needs synergy.
Kate can tank alot which is useful.
Yes Rex looks weak but there will be a moment when his ability to make things into a bomb will be useful. Wont spoil of course.
Rex is a lot more powerful than you’re giving him credit for.

I mean if it were up to robot, the new guardians would’ve just been teen team + monster girl and shrinking rae. Yeah, there’s meant to be some bias from robot
sadly, i would’ve expected less bias towards teen team considering he’s a robot, he’s of higher intellect and is expected to make an effective team.
Yeah, seems like a pretty poor design choice to make a robot that experiences biases
but hey, it adds to character I guess.
I’d agree with you if not for the fact that the judging was not in fact impartial. It’s not a coincidence that the entire Teen Team made the cut
Why wouldn’t they? Especially Kate imo, know she’s not the strongest but having numbers can often mean a lot, even if just fodder/bullet sponges.
Think there also was just a point of, not the greatest pickings. The OG Guardians have very Avengers/JL parallels and when those go down who do you call?
