This is probably the best TV show I’ve watched and might I even say the best TV show ever created.

It’s one of my least favorites though. It’s not my kind of show but it got me pretty damn hooked with that amazing writing, and I just kept watching to see how Bojack turned out.

But this show left me watching it in a somber mood, and I could feel my mental state getting a bit unsettled and, especially after season 4 penultimate episode, but again, I pushed through to see how it ended because this show has some truly talented writers behind it, props to all of them.

But yeah that’s all I wanted to say, this show is kind of the opposite of everything I usually watch, it is one of the last things I would choose to watch; but even though it was absolutely not my style of the show, the writing kept me intrigued throughout the whole run and it just truly goes to show how powerful this sad horse show is.

I give this series my greatest applaud, but I will never rewatch it. Anywho, I’m gonna hit the hay now, y’all have fun.

I love Bojack Horseman but I definitely get what you mean at the same time. A while ago having not watched the show for a while I did a solo rewatch of season 4 (no idea why I chose season 4 in particular or in isolation but there you go.) After finishing it I sat there for a few moment’s realising the mental toll it had taken on me and the mood and heaviness it left me with.

There are hundreds of shows that deal with dark subject matter and even more that deal with ostensibly darker themes than Bojack but there’s no other show that tapped directly into my own emotions and made me feel the twists and turns of the show rather than just view them. It’s definitely not for everybody.

I think it’s great that you appreciated it despite your reservations.

First time I watched this show, it immediately became one of my favorites. My mental state didn’t like it that much though because I could relate to way too many stuff and it didn’t help, tbh. I even had to stop my rewatch pretty early on as I was getting more and more depressed. Now that I’m doing much better, I can rewatch the show and relax. But I feel like I wouldn’t really recommend it to someone struggling with mental health 😅

same here!!! I got 1/3 of the way through, stopped, came back a year or 2 later, made myself sit through it

I’d highly recommend it, but I don’t know if I’d watch it again lol

Almost like a roller coaster a little out of your limits. It was a wild ride, but I think imma just savor the memories instead of getting back in line

Can’f say the same with Bojack tho, I’ve definitely been rewatching Bojack alot (but I understand if you wouldn’t want to)

i love bojack but anytime i rewatch it i’m very careful. I need to be in a good place mentally when i start watching it (i have anxiety and depression and im currently on meds), and every time i watch an episode i pay attention to how it makes me feel.

im very scared of falling into yet another depressive episode and i know the show can make me feel that way

even when i recommend the show i tell people to watch it only when they’re feeling okay. A friend of mine also loves bojack but when she’s rewatching it she can only watch like 2 episodes a day
