Why would he write of Viltrumite weaknesses to begin with? He was pretty dedicated to his eventual takeover. So why would he ever write anything which could ever come back to bite him or his people in the ass?

Was he dedicated to his takeover, really? His son says some sweet stuff to him and he leaves with tears in his eyes to another planet and considers suicide. He could’ve blitzed all of Earth at any time, but he chose to settle down and raise a child.
