Of all the couples I’ve watched on the show, he just does not bring anything to the table. There is nothing redeeming about him. He’s not overly attractive, he’s not kind, he’s not rich, his personality sucks, he doesn’t try with her friends to make a good impression.
I don’t get what she sees in him, he just mocks her and is always looking smug. I can’t stand his face. Also this last episode, why was Ashely just translating while he walked away from her group of friends lmao? She was like narrating his shit talking (which is good I guess) instead of calling him out (not good)
I honestly don’t think he’s really that into her. I think it’s more of an opportunity to make some more money to send back home. I think one of the main issues with this is also the fact that Manuel will sacrifice himself to send money back home which culturally speaking is very prominent in Latin American families. I don’t think Ashley realizes how big of a deal and non compromising situation this is. Manuel will send money back whether she likes it or not that’s just a given. Also the fact that he keeps his private life separate from her is a big tell all about how he really feels
