I’m not complaining about the rest of the special, it was a great ending to a good year for South Park, but it feels like the special was originally planned to be two parts, but got cut down to one, maybe it’s just me but did anyone else feel like that?
Eh. It was fine, but just fine. Not like the covid special, that was excellent.
The "problem’ isn’t that the ending felt rushed, but that it felt like it was pandering. Maybe that was part of the joke, maybe not.
I think they did at on purpose
It was just a dream by Kathleen Kennedy.
I mean South Park episodes almost always have rushed endings. It’s a cartoon that wraps up entire stories in anywhere from 22 to 44 minutes.
I try not to overthink it. There are exceptions though and I guess if there’s ever going to be an exception it should be on these special events on Paramount.
But we know they’re writing process and they point out themselves that they usually have to basically haul ass just to finish an episodes story.
I think I guess I’m just so intimate with the way they produce these shows that I kind of expect things to be a little rushed
There are exceptions like imagination land which was written way in advance, and I think some of the stuff where they went into the future was pretty well carved out.
Streaming wars felt pretty rushed to me
For anyone wondering when the 2 part is, it is currently being planned to happen sometime in 2024 and it will feature Mickey Mouse and Bob Chapek.
Bob Chapek left Disney like a while ago
I was not a big fan tbh, and I am even against a lot of the woke crap I have been seeing in our society for a while now. I also was not a fan of the sub plot with the AI/handymen/etc… Post Covid and Streaming Wars were better specials imo.
and I am even against a lot of the woke
Well you were the person the Episode was against, the whole point of it, is the people who complain cause more harm than the forced diversity, by complaining so much you force Disney to double down which creates a feedback loop of complain, double down, complain, double down etc
The episode literally rips the piss out of woke people and woke culture. It sounds kind of like you’re the central type of person this episode was mocking. It also attacked people who complain all the time about stuff and flip out immediately including about woke things which the guy didn’t say he does but which you did in the reaction to his comment
THe episode was literally about how people who go complaining about things being “woke” or pandering, are just as bad as Kathleen Kennedy herself, you’re literally agreeing with Cartman in the episode… you’re not supposed too, if you find what Cartman says to be reasonable, you need to get mental help
You seem to have some issues with comprehension and emotional regulation 😂 why do you keep putting words in people’s mouths then getting angry and defensive about them? the show took the piss out of woke culture and people for 80 percent of it. That’s what South park has done for a long time now like with the captain wokehero socjus principle. They also made (a few) comments in entire show about excessive complaints about wokeness and Mexican Spiderman being ok. One being the ending. If what you took from this its solely about Kathleen Kennedy and woke is actually just a great bunch of guys who really care about equality… I mean… lol
My guy wrote a full paragraph, making multiple statements that are just plain wrong, called Miles Morales “Mexican Spider-Man” and yet among all of that, made his argument completely redundant with the pure insanity of this clearly rage driven rant. you go girl or they sorry don’t know your pro-nouns
😂 I’m sorry you find a full paragraph so taxing, and my lack of reverence for the nationality of a children’s comic book character triggering.
No
I rewatched it and I actually liked it a lot more after rewatch
You can tell a lot about a person who actually uses the word woke and not in a ironic or sarcastic way.
Well? Go on then. What is it you can tell about them? Don’t be shy now, own your statement.
Tell me what you think woke means and then I’ll explain what I can tell from someone who uses that term seriously.
That’s not how this works and you know that :)
I can tell a lot about a person who uses a smiley face in their comments as well.
…well? What CAN you tell about a person that uses a smiley face in their comments as well? Are you ever going to elaborate on anything you state?
You can seem to tell a lot of things, if only you could tell how ridiculous it looks to never actually substantiate a single thing you say.
That you are an idiot.

Woke is really simple, I’ve never known why woke people think it poses such a dilemma when they ask that question. It’s having extreme prejudices that favour non Caucasians particularly black supremacism, women and LGBT etc, advantaging people based on their sex and skin colour, disadvantaging demonising and generalising about white straight men while being hyper sensitive hysterical and irrational about every other demographic, all while, importantly, claiming to be an ‘activist’ for or at least passionate believer in equality and fighting racism.
It’s being by definition a devout racist and sexist bigit while loudly proclaiming themselves to be against those things.
You’re welcome
Not the person I wanted an answer from, but I appreciate your response haha
You’re 100% right, I just wanted the woke person to have to examine their stance for once. It’s surprising how often they can’t even build a basic foundation with their ideology, let alone operate at any political level higher than a middle schooler.
I love SP with all my heart, but this was so boring. I felt obligated to watch it since I am a big fan, and I wanted to give it a chance. I feel like they could’ve made their point in a regular episode. They got me excited for nothing
It could have been 22 minutes long and they could have made an additional 6 episodes! 6 episode season wtf is that?
Proper ending is the kids who get yelled at for not knowing how to do anything go on you tube and fix the door in 2 minutes- and still Randy bitches about something. But asks their help how to really become a butterfly and jerk off leaving tons of ectoplasm on everything. RANDY !!!
I feel like South Park typically has this problem
It was. I thought that they could have used 15 more minutes for the climax, but I think it the best Paramount thing they’ve done.
I still think the best stuff was the vaccine special and when they went into the future. Particularly the stuff when they went into the future. It felt like a genuine “special event” and not just South Park episodes that were longer
This one was good, but I still think the peak was them going into the future and Cartman being a Jewish rabbi etc… And I think the pandemic and vaccination specials were both great but one of them was on HBO so I guess it depends on how you’re measuring it.
Streaming wars was probably the most forgettable of the specials
I’m still so damn mad Matt and Trey made me genuinely sympathetic for Cartman and almost devastated he lost his family. I’ll never forgive them lmao
Endings are hard
it’s an ending. that’s enough.
I understood that reference
I was surprised when I realised the special was only 45 minutes, honestly if instead of Randy bringing all the handymen into their universe, it ended with Sharon saying she looked up a tutorial online and fixed the oven herself, all pleased and Randy just being pissy like “I WAS doing it!” would of been absolutely perfection
that would actually work really damn well lol
AI probably wrote it again
Should’ve been a 2 parter
