When the burned Mauler finishes the cloning process, he says that for the first time they know who the clone is. In the first season, Rudy comments that he didn’t know the process would be so seamless, and one of the twins says “It has to be. Otherwise we know who the clone is, and that never ends well.”

It’s such a minor point but I loved that line specifically because it implies that they had to alter the cloning process because the clone would eventually kill the original out of jealousy or insecurity. But nevermind, I guess that never happened before and the process is seamless for no reason

I just assumed that they assumed t wouldn’t end well, saying “that never ends well” could imply that they have firsthand experience, but it also could just be that in any hypothetical situation, they know it wouldn’t end well for them.

Exactly my thought. It felt like they put this line in season 1 because they didn’t want to go through the events we see in season 2, but they went through it anyways so it feels weird.
