Every guest host, the show gains new viewers, sure. But they rarely stick. For a show to be successful, it needs loyal viewers tuning in because of the attraction to the system/format. Without a permanent host, there is no system and no format. Worst off, there will be no direction. It becomes nothing more than a youtube channel that posts random clips of different comedians.

If the guest host is a hit, congrats. If it’s a miss, you lose loyal viewers.

I used to be excited whenever a new daily show video pops up on my youtube feed. Now I don’t. If they continue with this guest host thing, I might even consider unsubscribing to the youtube channel.

Cannot believe they let Roy Wood Jr go. What a huge mistake that was. Hopefully he gets a show from Netflix or HBO. The people at CC really flubbed that. Hassan was a really good choice before the media suddenly realized that not everything a stand-up comedian says on stage is 100% true.

I’ve been watching The Daily Show for 23 years and the host needs to be a stand-up comedian that is intelligent, quick, and rational. Really don’t get some of the celebrity picks… or why they’re dragging this out for so long in the first place!

Comedy Central needs to bite the bullet, make an offer for him and make it offiocial. To me Roy felt like he grew to be the number 2 guy during Trevor’s run as host.
