Last episode we saw Kregg tell Mark that it’s now his job to weaken Earth for the upcoming full scale invasion and he has 100 years to prepare for it, but really what does he have to do ?
Nolan already took out the old Guardians Of The Globe who were far more capable than the new team, and as we saw with alternate Mark he and his dad took out the new team extremely easily.
Isn’t Earth pretty much already easy pickings ? If Lucan, Vidor and Thula went to Earth instead of hunting down Nolan they could have taken the planet with no issues at all. Even if Mark did decide to turn on earth the only thing he’d really have to do is kill the New Guardians and maybe take out some of earths WMD’s and that’s it really, from the Viltrumites POV it’s like telling someone I’m going to move into this fully furnished house but before I do I’m going to give you 100 years to cut the grass on the front lawn before I do it.

    The viltrumites have no idea what earth and its defenses are like and they aren’t concerned. They will show up when they are ready to show up. If Earth wants to comply they will join the empire, and if they don’t want to comply they will be forced to join the empire.

    The Viltrumites don’t care about Earth, it is just another planet. Mark theoretically making it slightly less effort for them is worth the wait

    I’m pretty sure they just don’t want earth to fight back when they arrive. Basically just make sure Earth doesn’t throw what would be a tantrum in their eyes when they arrive. Not like it would matter since the new guardians of the globe are pretty fraudulent anyway.

    If you’ve ever seen the boys, think about Homelanders speech. “take out the infrastructure, cell towers, internet… then take out some of the major defenses… then take out the nerve centers, like the Pentagon and the Whitehouse…then just wipe New York off the fuckin map” something like that is probably the move they’re expecting. Except worldwide. But yeah Mark would just have to take out the guardians and any other hero that would stand a chance, then do some of that and then make it absolutely clear that Viltrum is coming for the planet now. I mean if he sugarcoated it like “They’ll share their futuristic technology, and not much will really change they’ll just be in charge and taking our resources slowly over a few hundred or thousand years” I’m sure a percentage of the population would just be cool with it.
