In the Wednesday Downtown on 2021-07-21 they were doing the theory where they ask comedians something another person said that really made an impact on them and when they asked Ken Koba he recalled this press conference by a “Master Tanji.” I was wondering who he is??? he doesn’t come up when I google him. The press conference was him smoking while his doctor was explaining his esophageal cancer to the press. Thanks!

    It’s Tachikawa Danshi - wiki

    He was famous for rakugo and being the first host of Shoten and apparently was a politician somewhere along there.

        Ahh, well he died in 2011, and that video clip looked fairly old… so I really don’t know when the original was, but a general search (google youtube billibilli nico douga) involving him and press conference yielded nothing for me. but maybe I don’t know better keywords…
