Thank you for opening up to us and being vulnerable. Please do try to take care of yourself and try to nudge yourself to venture out a bit. Not all people are judgmental/bad. You deserve human connection (besides only from your wife).

Did not seem YA to me. My friend recommended it because she said she was really moved by it and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I kept reading it, thinking I’d get into it. Finished it and was not impressed. But had nothing to do with it seeming YA. All to say, if you’re not really enjoying it, don’t bother with it. You may be disappointed in like I was when you finish. And I rarely dislike books! But

I agree with most others. I’ve never tried to convince anyone else to read (other than nudging my kids when they were younger). I think it can probably only lead to resentment. My husband and I have very different tastes in book. And that’s totally okay with me. I find that one of the best parts of reading is that it’s a solitary activity that lets you tune out everything and everyone.
