I’m the same way. A good story just isn’t really enough to keep me engaged anymore. The author needs to be a profound thinker and a master of prose to really get me going. The insight stimulates my mind and the prose touches my heart. Every once in awhile, if I’m lucky, I’ll get lost in something great and start to imagine that fantasy world like I could as a kid, but it’s not something that happens often.
