Some people find it easier to skip Johnny’s parts and just read The Navidson Record first, since that’s the part of the narrative people often find more interesting. Once they’re sucked in and left wanting more at the end of The Navidson Record, then those folks will find the will to go back and read through Johnny’s half to see the ways in which it connects.
The thing about House of Leaves, there really isn’t a wrong way to read it. The book itself is as much a maze as Navy’s house is.
I’m just happy that people are still literate.
