I’ve been with an offshore rig worker over 15 yrs now. To the best of my knowledge, there really isn’t a weekend on a rig offshore, or a drill ship. There aren’t even days off.
They fly out or take a crew boat and stay their complete rotation. It is dry and is supposed to be. It is a dangerous job where one mistake can cost life.
When they end their hitch and go back to the beach, there will be decompressing: bars and strip clubs are part of that culture.
That doesn’t mean Jovi isn’t sneaking it, but it would get him fired.
In my experience, drinking in the mornings pushes that cross over the chemical line into addiction happen fairly fast
I think it’s unlikely he drinks while working. A lot of guys who do this work do have issues with drugs and/or alcohol, but can keep it at bay because their schedule provides dry time.
Still, that’s gonna get harder if jovis drinking reg in the morning when he’s home.
