Blood Meridian several times
Blood Meridian several times
East of Eden when Samuel said “I bet you think you’re so large and tragic” or something similar. I think it made me take the reins of my own happiness, because I think happiness is every little choice you make in a day. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself just starting choosing better for yourself. Sorry if that’s preachy. it’s not my favorite steinbeck but it’s a super solid story. Cheers guys
I don’t have this problem because I wanted to write better, so I decided to read with some of the most famous books that actually have been reviewed highly, and not saturated like CoHo. Like intelligent arguments by real humans not simpleton mom booktokkers and they gave ample reasons why the book is excellent. I started with Grapes of Wrath, then Blood Meridian, and All the Kings Men, Moby Dick, I’m now closing up Lonesome Dove, getting to the gravy in Count of Monte Cristo and Hundred Years of Solitude. I’m loving the Master and Margherita, it’s so odd and hilarioius and raucous, I’m starting Gone with the Wind, and my TBR is some Faulkner, East of Eden, The Sun Also Rises, Tale of Two Cities, Don Quixote, Brothers Karamozov, and ending with Vonnegut.
I’m not having any problems with quality with these writers lol
