It’s a medieval soap opera with a dash of architecture thrown in, but I loved it. Also made me appreciate cathedrals more!

Shantaram! I’m just mad I didn’t realize it was a shit book until I was almost done with it. By the time I finished the book I had completed grown to resent the author/narrator (it’s semi autobiographical) for his overly dramatic prose. No real ending to speak of either, although apparently that’s because there’s a second book? No way I’m reading that though
