The problem I had with their set-up was that it seemed like Danielle expected Yohan to fund 50% of what seems like a very expensive lifestyle for the average Dominican. If she picked a more modest (by local standards) place for them to live, I’d maybe have more sympathy. But even then, I’m of the opinion that people in couples should pay expenses that are proportionate to how much of the household income they earn. So you’d only pay 50% of the bills if you both earn roughly the same. This is the fairest way. Danielle does not have a head for money, clearly, so these things would never occur to her.
