Glad it wasn’t just me. I tried just the first book and couldn’t do it. I had absolutely zero interest in reading the rest of the series.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. I usually give a book about a hundred pages, but this one just rambled way too long for me.

Man, that series ruined me. I blazed through the first four. I remember finding two of them on clearance even. Ended up having to wait for each subsequent book and was never disappointed. No other book has filled that gap for me since.

If I have to read Lord of the Flies one more time… I think I read that book once a year from about the seventh grade till graduation. I felt like some teachers assigned it simply to have something to do without much thought. It’s a great book, but I can’t read it anymore.
