The issue involves her, but I think after she witnessed the atrocities of war she realized just how little of change she makes in the world. It’s a sad truth that we as individuals are unable to shake these evil foundations set up by twisted groups of power. It takes a lot to get a collective of resistance to do anything when society is still functioning for enough people (who also have things/people to lose as a bargaining chip)

Diane finds comfort in writing a book series to help younger children find joy growing up in such a terrible place, and that small amount of change is worthwhile.
