OMG, yes!!! Finally, someone else feels the same way! I had the double misfortune to listen to the audiobook of it. It was torture, and I only got about halfway before I just put it away. DNF.

Can’t rate it a 0 because I loved the show it was based on, but I HATED the first book of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Read the first book, cringing all the way, and began the second one hoping it would be better. Nope.
Another sieries that I seriously disliked was the Sookie Stackhouse books. Which is a shame because I kind of like the show.

William Shakespeare. We were assigned some of his works in high school, and almost without exception, he was taught poorly. I reread a couple in college and WOW! What a difference! The humor, the drama, the pathos. His use of language and meter. Just gorgeous! High school kids should NOT be taught the classics. They don’t care and, with some exceptions, can’t grasp the complexities.
