  • I have many, but my two favorites are:

    1. the pre-Columbian Native American cities & villages in W. Michael & Kathleen O’Neal Gear’s People series & The Anasazi Mystery Trilogy.
    2. Appalachicola, FL in Florida’s Forgotten Coast series by Dawn Lee McKenna. My family & I used to go there before it became so touristy, & way before the books’ timeline, but I still recognize places she talked about.

    W. Michael & Kathleen O’Neal Gear! The books they write together & separately! Wonderful writers & they each write in several genres! I began reading their works in the 1990’s! My favorites on Kindle are Steve Higgs & Ellen Riggs. They are not partners, but have somewhat similar styles. Cozy mysteries with lots of humor & animals as thinking characters! Jean Grainger writes Irish historical Fiction, & I always read hers. In fact I’m reading one of hers on Kindle now AND a Gear-Gear paperback, too!! Also through the Kindle Challenge’s FB group, I’ve become real friends with an Urban Fantasy author, Margie McDonnell Welsh. It’s not my go-to genre, but I’ve read & enjoyed them & am awaiting the next book! Other than these 6 people, I read for subject matter, not the author.
