I’m listening to Desperation and it is narrated by Stephen King. He pronouned Oregon as Or-eh-gawn like 6 times and as someone from the PNW I was cringing so hard.

I DNFd Blood and Gold by Anne Rice because there was way too much pedo shit from the main character and after the phrase “her baby woman skin” I literally could not anymore.
The most frustrating ones that I powered through were
It Rides a Pale Horse by Andy Marino because it could have been good but it was so crammed full of pop culture references and the horror was meh.
The Witch’s Heart by Genevieve Gornichec because it just felt so much like Marvel’s Loki fan fic and the narrative style was absolutely grating to me.
The Great Gatsby was literally a bunch of rich people getting drunk, cheating on each other and complaining.
The ones with the worst writing were
A Wolf so Grim and Mangy by Caroline Noe.
Hunter by Mercedes Lackey
The ones I feel duped for having read thinking they were going to be so good
A Study in Drowning
Until Iron Flame was released this book was all over my instagram and tiktok. It has over 360k reviews on GoodReads with a 4.26 average. I dont wanna be that guy, but this book has A LOT of attention already…
