Don’t base your opinions on other peoples opinions. If you only decide something is good or bad based on whether other people have deemed it good or bad, you’ll miss out on so many books and movies that you might actually enjoy but never give a chance to. Your only real way to know if you like a book or not is to read it yourself and make up your own mind. If you read a book or watch a film and enjoy it, it doesn’t matter if other people do or not. It doesn’t matter if it’s considered a masterpiece or not. If something interests you, just give it a go and see for yourself. Taste in books and films is far too subjective to be able to base your decisions on other peoples reviews and opinions.

The musical is also about politics and social hierarchy. Not saying you’re wrong to enjoy one over the other, I absolutely adore the musical, but it does have the same type of themes.

I was about to say, unless the book is one where it displays that the person has a vastly opposing political, ideological, or other views that I deem personally important I wouldn’t judge them for any book they enjoy. Even if I don’t personally like a book, that doesn’t mean I think I’ll be incompatible with someone who does. That way of thinking is so snobby, and that kind of snobbery is what would make me swipe left.

For someone being so snobby about the book, it’s quite funny that you’ve misinterpreted the quite simple messages of it.
