Same here. The people are all brutal killers or brutalized victims. Got to the point where I sensed a large Native American slaughter was coming up and didn’t want to read it anymore.

The few I’ve encountered that don’t read have said “ I will fall asleep by the second page”. It just doesn’t work for them. Some people cannot mentally put themselves into what they are reading.
