Completely agree.

Also the setting. The graphic novel portrays a devastated world where fascist thrive. In the movie they have beautiful houses and live happily (albeit in a dictatorship). People that live in peace and have their subsistence guaranteed don’t make revolutions.

And yet they have the same animal species and speak English!

The book is painful.

That’s not a new trend.

It’s called ‘bowdlerizing’ due to an editor, Bowdler that did it with Shakespeare plays in 1818.
