Had to learn that lesson as I was a huge Beatles fan, John was my favorite, but hearing how his personal life went and how he treated everyone around him was very disappointing.
Still, Rowling needs to get her privileged head out of her ass, and realize that people are just people.

He was one of the main authors for Warhammer 40k novels, but a couple of his books were…interesting…to say politely.
The fans tore him down and still consider him the worst 40k author, a decade after he left writing for them.
I genuinely feel for the guy, he helped create one of the biggest fictional universes, and was essentially bullied out of it for a couple duds.
If it were up to me, I’d give him short stories to stick in anthologies, or give him a “what if…” type series for 40k.

Carl Sagan’s last (afaik) book he wrote before passing away. He attempts to tackle the rise of conspiracy theories, and religious zealotry. He examined the core issues that can cause people to head down either road. A bit dense, but he really cared about the issue. He saw what damage it could do short and long term to society.
