I could’ve sworn I saw something like this in compendium 3. Maybe it was something about 15 different covers for a particular issue or something?

I’ll peek through compendium 3 again when I get a chance and see if I can figure out what’s got me confused.

The comics being referred to in this scene are from the comic store and mark is temporarily back on earth before leaving.

Same deal as Nolan v guardians. Surprise is a powerful element. When mark goes back in time the guardians live and are able to fight off Nolan because they know what’s coming.
Comic ended very “happily ever after”. Post comic, yeah I wonder if immortal goes evil or whatever.
Because the one thing I felt really didn’t have a payoff was the time travel thing. He was told he doomed everything by leaving, but he saved everything and everyone minus his dad. So is that like post comics then?
The utopia was anything but false. My man really did make one. The only people (we see) he fucked over are supes. Grand scheme, 99.9999% were better off

Didn’t see anything else on skim, idk why I felt so confident I had seen that panel (mark gives the kid his bag of comics, no costume and the kid tells him comics are lame) in compendium 3.
