In English, probably Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. In Chinese, either 論語 or 說文。
My family was all voracious readers, even my brother the biker. Books open worlds; if someone doesn’t want to expand their horizons, that’s their loss.
Your mind really takes shape between the ages of 16 and 26. You can figure out the rest from there.

Have you read The Innocents Abroad? It’s an early work so parts are forced, but overall it’s great fun.
