Also I disagree, both are complex and broken characters in large part due to their upbringings. If you decide one is worthy of empathy and not the other, isn’t that kind of hollowing out the character into a one-dimensional villain? The show makes it pretty clear, Bojack at the nursing home gave his mom a little bit of forgiveness and peace.
