Light novels are for kids, too

Comics. I don’t know why the hell you’re not accepting comics as “cartoon books.” That’s exactly what they are.

It’s also totally fine to just not like a book that other people say is good. Maybe those people have bad taste in fiction, lol

Imo, as cool as the theoretical concepts are, a novel is not good if the characters and plot are lacking and you don’t enjoy reading it. It gives the impression that the author chose the wrong format for their ideas. You can tell from reading it that he’s not really interested in his own characters. Why did he choose to make it a novel??? It’s like… this could have been an essay or a 20 minute YouTube video or something. Or even just like… a nonfiction book about the concepts.
