I love that one but it’s one of the few books he wrote that I only read once. I don’t think I could handle it a second time.
Zweig was a bit of a womanizer though and I feel like it is a personality type he probably encountered at some point. He was also good friends with Freud and I suspect it impacted both his fiction and non fiction. Twilight is also a pretty spot on description of a narcissist’s thought process. If you liked Beware of Pity you might want to pick it up.
