The Neverending Story. I was a reader already but after responding positively to the film, my grandma helped me get a copy of the book. I was amazed. That book cemented my love of stories and fantasy in particular. It’s still one of the best and most poignant fantasy books I’ve ever read. I cry every time I read it. I read it dozens of times growing up.
