I’m 34. Last year, I read multiple middle grade novels. I felt weird at first, but who cares. They are an easy read with fun stories. Go for it.

I came here to say this. I bought almost all of his books in my 20’s. I’ve tried to reread Invisible Monsters a few times now and couldn’t get through it.

As for reading for the first time, I would pick any of the Harry Potter books. Not necessarily for the content, but for the feelings I associate with them. The excitement and anticipation waiting for the next book to come out. And then the thrill of finally reading them. Staying up all night just to finish the book as quickly as possible. I haven’t felt that way about a book since.
