yeah. i have quiet bpd, so my symptoms are a lot less demonstrative and more often internal (for example, i split on myself a lot as opposed to other people), but certain things bojack says or does really hit home for me (for example, the scene you mentioned where bojacks begs diane to tell him he’s good - i often ask my boyfriend if i’m evil lol, dramatic as hell). the episode stupid piece of shit was way too relatable. i think it’s okay to relate to him or even sympathize with him, as long as you’re not making excuses for him or giving him passes for his behavior, you know? the point of the show was never to make a main character everyone completely hated and couldn’t relate to or understand. i feel like a lot of people (even your boyfriend) find it strange or even disturbing when people relate to bojack and feel bad for him, but that doesn’t automatically mean anyone who does is a bad person.
