That is the sweetest book.
That is the sweetest book.
For some reason, this book always stayed with me and every once in a while I’ll read it again: “The Wicked Pigeon Ladies in the Gardenl by Mary Chase. Not really saying it meant the most, but it’s weird how some books stay with you.
I have to say autobiographies are where I permit myself to get trashy. Tim Gunn, Valerie Bertinelli. Andrew McCarthy, Jada Pinkett Smith, w/e. Get them at the library so there’s no real evidence.
It was a quick and easy read, so I didn’t really mind, but it doesn’t deserve the praise it received. This is one of those books that if someone recommends, they get an automatic downgrade in terms of respect.
The Twilight Books - got about two chapters in and the writing was just such low quality… like lasagna from 7-11
Okay, so this is not as dramatic as some of the other stories people are sharing, but Marilynne Robinson is one of my favorite authors and I have heard that certain folks looked down on her because she taught at a public university (The University of Iowa). smh.
It’s beautifully written, but my god, the whale. Enough about the whale.
Bridget Jones’s Diary - the book was totally vapid but the movie had a little more substance and charm.
