I have struggled with Land since being on a book award committee and was forced to read Maid. I think Maid is more sincere and focused on overcoming the struggle. I don’t think the writing is great but it was okay.

Class… I listened to the audiobook, narrated by the author. I am not sure exactly when, but I was suddenly not entertained and mostly annoyed. The irresponsible behavior is just… ugh. It’s real, no doubt, but I think Land is narcissistic and it’s gross.
