My spouse reads magazines. I love to read lots of books but I feel quite uncomfortable reading magazines.
Audiobooks absolutely count. Your mind is engaging with the material.
I think it’s awesome that you’re a narrator. How did you get into the field?
I listened to The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd recently. The audiobook had multiple narrators, and two of them differed on the pronunciation of a character’s name. It was completely jarring every time.
There’s a funeral of someone close to a main character at some point in the book, but the grief is never mentioned again.
I’m sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your burnout. My spouse went through something similar as director of online learning for a college, and is still trying to recover.
That would have been excellent during any kind of isolation or quarantine
Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. The book is so important, and really bestowed significant understanding on me, but I struggled to get through the part about Cotton Mather. Not Kenzi’s fault. I just hated studying Cotton Mather in 11th grade so much. Anyway, I am pleased I stuck with Stamped From The Beginning
