I understand, it’s just that EVERY alcoholic in a story I’ve read seems to be functioning. I get it that it wouldn’t be much of a story if the alcoholic just stayed in bed all day, it was just my example 😊

Exactly! And when it’s a woman MC, they’re of course still presented as extremely attractive, thin, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I know alcoholism looks different on everyone but… my bleary eyes, bloated face, and greasy hair didn’t make me very glamorous😂 Also, MASSIVE congratulations on 2+ years, I’m so happy to hear that. Insane accomplishment, I’m rooting for you!!

True, I think it captured the hangxiety piece great, and it’s been years since I read it. I was mostly just referring to how quickly alcoholics in some stories “bounce back” but I could have used hundreds of other examples😂
