My school doing jane eyre put me off classics for ages.
Then i read wuthering heights in my own time and realised I like thoose types of books when I’m not having the fun sucked out of them.
It feels like trashy fanfiction most of the time that BARELY goes above a wattpad story,
The only true positive, is it makes me feel more confident that if I ever actually get my story done (or a collection of them) , it might snapped up by a publisher…because sweet fuck I don’t know how Fourth Wing did.
I think that before the internet really took over for me, I always read them with maybe first page or two of the book when I could.
These days I tend to google about a bit when I pick a book to see if it’s up to snuff.
