Christmas is coming up. My bfs mom is a huge reader and has a big collection of books.
She let me borrow one of her personal books and I noticed she sharpied her name into it.
I saw on Etsy they make some cute ink or embossed stamps that say “x’s library” or something. They’re not super expensive and there are so many designs.

I remember getting a stamp and glue in personalized name plates as a gift and loving them!
If I’m the mom, I’d still sharpie my name and also stamp them.
Like those for old school official documents where they stamp their name with their license/registration number and then sign on top of it.
I’ll be like that. Maybe not a sharpie, but a normal pen.
Also, I would probably ask you for more; a different stamp design for each genre.
You can also buy labels that say “Ex Libris” (from the library of) with a spot for your name. That would be a fun gift.
Another option are bookplates that can have more elaborate designs or even customised as they’re just stickers so might be more bang for the buck though not as reusable as a physical inked stamp.

I’ve wanted an embosser for years. It’s the perfect gift for an avid reader. I’ve sent my husband and kids the Etsy link so many times. At this point I’m just going to buy it for myself and put it under the tree.
I have one and dig it. Especially for when I put them in little free libraries. It’s like saying, hey I was here in this awesome world.
I got one for my sister and she loves it. Still gets excited to take it out and stamp all the new books she buys
I got one as a gift many years ago and absolutely love it (even though I don’t use it.)
It’s one of most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received in the best way…it’s something I don’t need, would never buy myself, and shows that the giver understands me. And they’re relatively inexpensive.
