I can’t believe how many people on this show lie or withold truth from their partner, while spilling the whole tea in the one-on-one interviews with the producers. Like Sophie telling us, the viewing public, that she’s bi, before telling her fiancée. Or Jasmine revealing her whole “plan,” etc. There are so many examples of people communicating way better in the one on one interviews than they do with their own partner.
Like Steven telling Olga that he applied for the K1 Visa but didn’t until later.
A lot of these are producer driven story arcs. Like at this point I think about 90% of Jasmine and Gino are manufactured for the show. Some of it is a combination of poor communication and conflict avoidance. In the case of Sophie, I can see why she wouldn’t tell Rob the Knob she’s bi because he’s already incredibly insecure. The probably is she’s only delaying his response. Like he’s going to explode whether she tells him now or tells him two weeks from now.
I LOVE JASMINE. She’s the best person I’ve ever see on reality tv. Hilarious and a good soul.
I do think it’s funny. Like, you know they’re going to replay this for your partner at the Tell All, right?

You know it’s a TV show where they are given instructions and a narrative to loosely act out. It not actual reality 😭
Perfect example is when the boys lie on the resort thinking they are getting away with going to the strip club but every viewer in the nation is watching them lie to their partners. Losers!
This was scripted. As was jovi texting his stripper fling. Jovi is a crap actor you can see his s eating grin or smirk every. Single. Time. Ansuelo asking what the stripper said then jovi grin texting. Yara (love her) throwing a drink at home and then him smirking followed by sulking. It was fake: small ed holds grudges and wouldn’t have talked to him for the rest of the trip.
Effing ex cop Kelly (love him) whining about getting called a b by ed. gimme a break.
I remember seeing the paperwork to get on this show and one of the main questions was asking what secret they had that they are holding from their partner, so I think that is a big part of the shows plotline. Like a hidden secret they need to reveal.
a lot of people intend to tell the truth eventually, but wait for the perfect moment that’s never going to arrive. they’re just stalling.
Because the producers tell them to follow a script basically. Is that not obvious
A couple of folks have commented to say “apparently you’re new here.” Yes, I am new here, as I have written above. This is my first reddit post OF ALL TIME. thank you to those commentors for their super keen and helpful observations 😂
Casting agents have openly said that learning that one partner is keeping a secret is more likely to get them cast. I’m sure it’s a direct question when they’re interviewing potential couples (they probably interview them together and then individually).
Also, a lot of the “secrets” are things that probably just wouldn’t be discussed if not for cameras rolling and needing a big reveal. A good example is Rebecca’s not-yet-finalized divorce- she probably didn’t NEED to tell Zied that; he likely didn’t understand US divorce procedures and it’s not like she was still living with or hanging out with her ex.
