The voice direction/dialogue/voice acting seems… off… at points this episode. I noticed it a bit in episode 1, but it seems more apparent here. It’s like they have trouble conveying what they’re trying to say, so it seems like they’re not saying much of anything at all.
Trying to force in ‘you’re not your father’ at every turn felt very non sequitur to me. The dialogue between Cecil and Debbie felt like it was created by AI or some kind of alien with a half-baked understanding of how humans communicate or how a professional government agent would speak. The voice actors themselves seem to not know how to read their lines or what was trying to be conveyed either, so what they say seems like more of a guess at what they should sound like.
Am I the only one who noticed this? Or am I going crazy?
