I have two. The Ritual and Drowning.
The Ritual is pure smut. 61 chapters and every one contains a graphic, demeaning sex scene. I’m convinced the author was an adult film screenwriter and decided to try their hand at writing a novel. There isn’t a single likable character in this book.
Drowning isn’t a great work of literature. I felt that the characters were very two-dimensional. I hated how naive the author made the protagonist. It made me have a lack of sympathy for her. The ending was series finale of Dexter bad.
Leave the world behind by Rumaan Alam. Weird sex scene and description of the their daughter. Then the book just ended on nothing really.

I’m starting to get annoyed slightly with these Obama reads. I go to the bookstore and they’re everywhere . There was book with Obama and Bruce Springsteen on the front giggling at each other like a couple school girls. I just scowled at the book cover for a couple minutes then moved to a different section where again I saw a book called “becoming Michelle” and another three Barack books about something about hope or some dribble. I just rubbed my head because I think it broke my mind for a bit. Then “shardik” by Richard adams took my attention and ohohoh; just what the doctor ordered. Nothing like a good old fashion bear type moby dick book told by one of the greats! Sorry for the digressions. I love this sub

I came here to say this! I thought I was crazy because the reviews were praising this but it was so so bad and icky.
I actually didn’t finish this because I got so bored and annoyed I looked up spoilers. Decided it wasn’t worth my time. So this is also #1 worst on my list.

Yes!! I read the book a few year ago and the whole thing was so random and abrupt… like what was it??
That book was so deeply uncomfortable to read, but was pretty brilliant. I don’t know how I feel about a movie adaptation. That cast is Big Ticket, but yikes I’m uncomfortable even thinking about it.
