I have two. The Ritual and Drowning.
The Ritual is pure smut. 61 chapters and every one contains a graphic, demeaning sex scene. I’m convinced the author was an adult film screenwriter and decided to try their hand at writing a novel. There isn’t a single likable character in this book.
Drowning isn’t a great work of literature. I felt that the characters were very two-dimensional. I hated how naive the author made the protagonist. It made me have a lack of sympathy for her. The ending was series finale of Dexter bad.
Lessons in chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I don’t understand the hype.
Same here! I read it because I wanted to see how it ended, but the characters were insufferable! They felt like such stereotypes.
This book wasn’t for me.
Yes. The premise was like…. “What if we took someone with 2023 sensibilities and plopped them into the 50s? They would change the world!” Ok
This was a DNF for me. Soooooooooooooooooo cliche
I was hoping to find this. I think it was mis-marketed as the blurb said it was funny. It’s not remotely funny. Or realistic. As a woman in STEM, it made me cringe.
