By the time this joke came out the Family Guy writers had also made several jokes about Bob’s burgers. It was this point in time the writers felt more mean spirited than like they were genuinely joking, bitter they weren’t winning any awards like Bob’s Burgers and Bojack even though they’ve been on for years.
That’s how it came across for me at the time because the Bob’s burgers ones were much harsher but idk I could be pulling all of that out of my ass.
I do like the design though and the acknowledgement of the show.
And that’s totally fair. I think the citing of the Bob’s burgers jokes just gives reason for why I myself may have interpreted it to be mean spirited too when it likely wasn’t intended that way.

I thought it was more just a joke of “how would Peter perceive this show”. Didn’t really feel mean like the bobs burgers jokes.
